West Ham United were far too good for Leicester City today.
West Ham boss David Moyes addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s 2-0 win over Leicester today, and despite being visibly delighted, he shared one thing that disappointed him about the performance of his team, as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers all but secured their Premier League status for another season with their win over the Foxes today, and Moyes’ side provided a glimpse of just how good they can be when they are truly on top of their game.
West Ham now sit in 15th spot in the Premier League table, five points clear of the drop zone, with only two games remaining this season.
Moyes spoke to reporters after his side’s fine 2-0 win over Leicester, and insisted that there was still room for improvement in spite of their excellent display, as quoted by Football.London:
“We are capable of those performances. We played good football, brave on the ball, passed it well and had we ben more clinical we could have got more goals.”
The Hammers’ final two games are a pair of home matches against Manchester United and Everton respectively, and if they can rack up a couple of wins, they still have a chance of finishing indie the top half of the Premier League table – something that would give Moyes great bargaining power with the board, in his hopes of earning a new contract at the club.
