The West Ham United star returned to action two weeks ago following a six game ban.
West Ham manager David Moyes suggested that he expects to see more from Arthur Masuaku against Stoke City tomorrow night, when writing a column for the club’s official website, after being left disappointed with the 24-year-old’s display against Chelsea last weekend.
Masuaku missed six games through suspension before returning to action against Southampton two weeks ago, and the Hammers really missed his presence down the left flank.
The Congolese ace really impressed during the first half of the campaign for West Ham, after being deployed in a more advanced role to the one that he was utilised in under Slaven Bilic.
Moyes explained how the standards that Masuaku has set for himself means that he is now expected to perform at an extremely high level on a consistent basis, when writing a column for the club’s official website:
“I thought he did very well in his first game back against Southampton, but I was hoping for much more from him in his last game against Chelsea. Maybe it was a little bit that he had got back in and the adrenaline had got him through the first game? I’m hoping for a better performance than he gave me at Chelsea and something more like what he gave me against Southampton.”
The east London outfit currently sit in 15th position in the Premier League table, and can jump up to 12th with a win over the Potters tomorrow night.
Masuaku will surely have a key role to play for his side against Paul Lambert’s men, and following Moyes’ comments, it seems as though the 24-year-old really has a point to prove.
