The West Ham United boss has done a decent job since taking over in November last year.
West Ham manager David Moyes addressed the media today during his pre-match press conference, and responded to a question asking him if he has received any inkling from the board that he will remain in charge beyond the end of this season, as quoted by Football.London.
The Scot was handed the reigns at the London Stadium in November last year, and it is hard to argue that he has not done a good job so far, with the Hammers sitting fairly comfortably in 14th spot in the Premier League table, six points clear of 18th placed Southampton.
If West Ham do manage to avoid the drop this season, Moyes will surely stand a great chance of earning a long-term contract as manager.
The 54-year-old spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference today, and responded when asked whether he has been given any sort of hint from the owners that he will be offered a new deal in the summer, as quoted by Football.London:
“I have had inklings yeah but I am still going to wait until the end of the season and make my decision. I am enjoying it. Let’s get our job done.”
The Hammers still have five games to play this season, and a strong finish could see them finish inside the top 10.
If Moyes’ side do finish the season in fine style, his chances of earning a long-term deal at the club will greatly improve but whether West Ham fans will be happy with that is another matter entirely.
