Newcastle head coach Steve Bruce told The Chronicle in December 2019 that the full-back has “surprised” him this season.
However, no new deal is in place for the 26-year-old right-back at Newcastle, and Estadio Deportivo has claimed that West Ham are interested in securing the services of the Spaniard this summer.
The report in the Spanish news outlet has claimed of interest in the former Liverpool and Sunderland loanee from Real Betis, Sevilla and Fenerbahce as well.

West Ham’s reported interest in Manquillo does not come as a surprise, as the Hammers could do with a new right-back, with Pablo Zabaleta recently telling Radio Continental that he will leave the London club at the end of June when his current contract runs out.
David Moyes in charge of West Ham at the moment, and the former Manchester United manager signed full-back Manquillo for Sunderland on a season-long loan deal from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2016 when he was in charge of Black Cats.
According to WhoScored, during his loan spell at the Stadium of Light, Manquillo made 15 starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League, scoring one goal in the process.
