West Ham United boss David Moyes has hailed midfielder Pablo Fornals, noting that he went ‘under the radar’ last season.

Fornals has made a superb start to the season, and he was outstanding against Leicester City on Monday night.

Fornals opened the scoring, turning Said Benrahma’s cross into the net to make it 1-0 after fine build-up play.

West Ham went on to win 4-1, with Benrahma bagging the second before Michail Antonio’s brace wrapped up the victory.

Fornals now has one goal and one assist in the first two Premier League games of the season, and has earned huge praise from West Ham fans.

The Spaniard was a big signing from Villarreal in the summer of 2019 under Manuel Pellegrini, but took a while to really settle in.

Now a firm fan favourite, Fornals will take some budging from the West Ham team even if Moyes brings Jesse Lingard back to the club over the next week.

Moyes has now spoken glowingly about Fornals to Football.London, claiming he played ‘really well’ last night, working hard and contributing in the final third.

The Scot added that Fornals went under the radar last season, but West Ham are now really seeing the best of him early on this term.

“Pablo Fornals played really well and I mentioned it last year I thought he was a bit under the radar last year with what he did for the team and how he performed but, you know, he has come back in good shape and can play in so many different roles for us, he is a great boy to work with. I’m glad he is getting these goals because we want him to chip in with more, so him getting a goal tonight was really good.
