The Black Cats are keen to bring the midfielder back permanently after his successful loan spell last season.

Sunderland manager David Moyes has told the Chronicle that talks are on going for midfielder Yann M’Vila.
The midfielder was a big hit at the Stadium of Light last season after joining on loan from Rubin Kazan.
He was one of several players to show improvement under Sam Allardyce, going on to play an important role as they eventually avoided relegation from the Premier League.

Allardyce was keen to bring him back before he departed to manage England, and his replacement, David Moyes, is also hoping to get him signed permanently.
However the deal is proving to be complex to get completed, with the Chronicle reporting that his current side want more than £5 million for their man.

That is a price the Black Cats don’t want to pay considering his contract runs out in six months, and Moyes has confirmed that talks are on going.
“There are talks going on, there are things going on behind the scenes as well,” he told the Chronicle.
“Obviously, he is out of contract in January so as you can imagine people are looking at what the difference is in doing something now, or doing something in January.”
It now remains to be seen if Sunderland can get a permanent deal for M’Vila completed before the end of the transfer window.
It would be surprising if they didn’t given the role he played last season but perhaps waiting until his contract runs out would be the smartest move for them unless they can agree a good price for him.
