And Moyes says that he believes Joao Mario will improve West Ham’s squad.

“I have been consistent over the last month in wanting only to sign players who would make us better and stronger,” Moyes said.

“I believe the West Ham fans would agree with me that, on the evidence of Joao Mario’s full debut for us against Crystal Palace on Tuesday, we have certainly added quality to our squad.”

Joao Mario now looks likely to have a key role to play at West Ham, with both Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini out injured.
