Sunderland managed to grab a late equaliser against West Brom to pick up a point.

Sunderland manager David Moyes has admitted he was happy with his side’s energy and commitment in their 1-1 draw with West Brom, speaking to safc.com.
The Black Cats fell behind the first half when Nacer Chadli found the net, but a late goal from Patrick van Aanholt ensured that Sunderland would pick up their second point of the season. Despite not getting a win yet again, Moyes had some positives after the draw.

“The energy and commitment was great,” Moyes told safc.com.
“The endeavour was fantastic, though we are lacking bits of quality.”
The point did nothing for Sunderland’s league position, leaving them bottom of the Premier League after Stoke drew at Old Trafford, and Moyes is still looking for his first league win in red and white.
The Scottish manager saw some positives from his side in the draw, with the way they came from a goal down a huge positive, especially after throwing away a lead the weak before, showing that they do have character themselves.

However, the lack of quality going forwards has to be a huge concern for Moyes, with the Black Cats heavily reliant on Jermain Defoe to score the goals that will keep them up. This time it was Dutch defender van Aanholt who got on the score sheet, but it was another performance that lacked any attacking zest from Sunderland.
While they may have shown more energy and endeavour and they say there is no substitute for hard work, it will all be for nothing if they do not start adding some quality to their game.
