According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United are interested in signing Marouane Fellaini from Manchester United, and if David Moyes does snap up the powerful Belgium he will surely be delighted.

Moyes is known to be a big fan of Fellaini, having worked with him at both Everton and United.

And Moyes’ past glowing praise of Fellaini in the Daily Express, means that it is hardly a surprise to see the midfielder being targeted now.

Moyes said earlier this year: “He’s never going to be Paul Scholes.

Phil Foden #80 of Manchester City attempts to move around Marouane Fellaini #27 of Manchester United at NRG Stadium on July 20, 2017 in Houston, Texas.

“But he was there to do certain jobs and I think the job he’s doing really well for them.

“But I think Manchester United are crossing the ball and Fellaini is heading it in the net.

He’s a really good runner which people don’t give him credit for.

“Maybe doesn’t have great high intensity speed but he can cover the ground.

“He puts in as much work as anybody and I’ve said this a couple times, I would argue he’s probably got the best chest control in the world. He’s that good.”

David Moyes, Manager of Sunderland gives his team instructions during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Sunderland at Emirates Stadium on May 16, 2017 in London, England.

Jose Mourinho has certainly seen some value in Fellaini, and has played him fairly regularly.

However, Fellaini’s contract expires at the end of the season, and that means that he could be available on a cut-price deal this month.

West Ham are known to be looking for central midfielders, as Moyes wants to add quality in that department.

The Scottish boss has suggested that West Ham’s squad is unbalanced in recent weeks, with Moyes looking to bolster his defence and midfield over the coming weeks.

West Ham are currently in 15th place in the Premier League table, two points above the drop zone.
