One of Arsenal’s best players was in action at Euro 2024 on Sunday, and talkSPORT pundit David Moyes was hugely impressed by his performance.

Arsenal have a number of their players at Euro 2024, and some of them have already been in action.

Kieran Tierney struggled for Scotland against Germany last Friday, while Kai Havertz scored a goal for the home nation.

Jorginho turned out for Italy on Saturday, and Bukayo Saka helped England win 1-0 against Serbia on Sunday.

Another Arsenal player who started for the Three Lions was Declan Rice, and his performance has drawn huge praise from Moyes.

Moyes managed Rice at West Ham United before the England international midfielder moved to London and Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer of 2023.

Moyes gives verdict on Declan Rice England display vs Serbia

The former Manchester United boss thinks that Rice did exactly what he was supposed to do in the middle of the park.

Moyes said about Rice on talkSPORT (9:52 am, June 17, 2024): “Declan was majestic. Every time Serbia did threaten, Declan was breaking it up.

“He started the game when he needed to, he is beginning to play with a lot of composure and calmness about his game.

“So, for me, Declan is doing exactly what you would want.

“There were a couple of moments because Serbia had some threatening times and I thought Declan gave them that little bit more security playing just in front of the back four.”

Gary Lineker also impressed with Declan Rice

Rice has developed into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and it seems that he has just taken that club form to the international stage

The Arsenal star’s performance against Serbia impressed a former Tottenham Hotspur striker as well.

BBC Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker noted how disciplined Rice in the middle of the park, pointing out that he was playing in a different role in midfield for Arsenal in the final weeks of last season.

Lineker said about Rice on the Rest Is Football podcast: “He was more disciplined because the last few weeks of the season he was playing as an eight for Arsenal and he does it well, he protects that back four really well.”
