The West Ham United youngster impressed against Shrewsbury Town in what was an otherwise disappointing day for the club.
Hammers boss David Moyes addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing 0-0 draw with Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup today, and singled out Josh Cullen as West Ham’s best player, whilst highlighting his players’ lack of steel and fight as something that really disappointed him, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The east London outfit were arguably outclassed by their League One counterparts from the very first whistle at New Meadow today, and were fortunate to earn a replay back at the London Stadium.

Moyes fielded a team that was mixed with youth and experience, but one that ultimately was not good enough on the day to shrug off the challenge of the determined, dogged Shrews.
The Scot spoke to reporters after the game, and admitted that he was disappointed with his side’s display, although he did find time to praise 21-year-old Josh Cullen, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“Josh was probably our best player today. Considering he’s only just come back and we’re getting to know him. The biggest disappointment for me was that we didn’t show enough steel, because when you come to these places you have to show that you can battle and compete physically. I don’t think we did that at all.”
The last thing that the Hammers needed is another game, with a packed schedule already ahead of them, but at least they are still in the FA Cup, and there is nothing that West Ham fans like more than a good cup run.
