West Ham United brought in just Joao Mario and Jordan Hugill in January.

David Moyes has rather bizarrely claimed that West Ham United arguably had the best January transfer window of any Premier League club.
West Ham fans were left angered by their business at the start of the year, with Jordan Hugill and Joao Mario their only additions.
But Moyes feels that West Ham did excellently in the previous transfer window.

He said to the Daily Mirror: “West Ham had arguably the best January of any club in the Premier League. We sold three players, made a profit, bought in only Jordan Hugill.”
The claim seems a rather bizarre one, as although West Ham have survived it is hardly down to their business in January.
The sale of Andre Ayew may have been a smart piece of business, but it hard to argue that their squad is actually stronger now.

West Ham also lost Diafra Sakho and Jose Fonte four months ago, reducing the numbers of senior players in their squad.
And while Joao Mario’s deal has been a productive one, Hugill has not even made a Premier League start yet.
The likes of Everton, Newcastle United, Liverpool and Arsenal will all surely have valid claims to suggest that they had better January transfer windows than West Ham.
And Moyes’ claims surely can only be classed as exaggerated.
