Sunderland lost their latest fixture 3-1 against Stoke City.
David Moyes has told the Daily Mirror that he believes Ellis Short will have heard Sunderland fans’ chants against him during their defeat against Stoke City.
Sunderland supporters turned on Short in the contest, with chants of “Are you watching Ellis Short” being heard ringing out across the Stadium of Light.
Short has been criticised for not providing Moyes wth the money need to strengthen his Sunderland squad.
The Black Cats are believed to have very little money to spend in January, despite being stuck in the relegation zone in the Premier League.
And Sunderland’s performance against Stoke, highlighted their need for some added quality.
Sunderland were 3-0 down in the first half against the Potters, and even though Jermain Defoe hit a consolation they were unable to get back into the match.
Moyes admits that Sunderland’s form does concern him, and when asked to give his opinion on the chants against Short, he said: “Ellis does watch the games but we’ve known the situation.
“I do think the supporters here have been through it that many times, and when I came I wanted to change that – I don’t want them to go through this every year.
“Of course you’ll lose games, of course you’re not going to win every home game, and there will be times when you make mistakes and don’t play well.
“But it’s too much, too much. We want to try to change that.”
Sunderland are now in 19th place in the Premier League table, with their next league match coming against West Bromwich Albion.
