West Ham United should definitely move for Jack Wilshere after David Moyes endorsement.
Speaking to Football London, West Ham United boss David Moyes has described Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere as an “excellent footballer”.
The 25-year-old midfielder could start against West Ham in the London Stadium tonight after Aaron Ramsey was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
In doing so, it would be Wilshere’s first Premier League start of the season so far, having played the majority of his football in the Europa League up until this point.
Such a shortage of regular football has prompted suggestion that the England international – out of contract in the summer – could leave the Gunners in January, and perhaps the Irons is perfect for him.
Moyes told Football London ahead of tonight’s encounter that ” Jack is also an excellent footballer” when it was put to him that Wilshere could start against the Hammers and a move makes sense.
Wilshere is one of the ball best carriers that Arsenal have, despite his low-status season so far, and such dynamism from midfield has been lacking at West Ham for quite a while.
Transfermarkt claim that he is worth around £13.2 million which is a steal for someone of his abilities. He has, however, had his fair share of injury problems, but he has avoided the kind of lengthy layoffs that he was previously known for, making 29 Premier League appearances for Bournemouth and Arsenal last term.
His salary could be a stumbling block, with Wilshere earning £90,000 per week in North London according to Total Sportek, but perhaps he would be receptive to a wage cut if it meant regular football and increased chances of going to the World Cup in June.
