Sunderland are set to take on Burnley at Turf Moor in the FA Cup this evening.
Sunderland boss David Moyes has told the Chronicle that he would love to progress in the FA Cup, but he would rather they stayed in the Premier League, suggesting that he could make alterations to his line-up tonight.
Sunderland are set to take on Burnley this evening at Turf Moor, after drawing 0-0 with the Clarets in the first FA Cup match between the pair.
There was little between the Black Cats and Sean Dyche’s side when they met on Wearside.
But the added fixture has done neither side a favour, as they both look to stay in the Premier League.
Sunderland and Burnley are determined to retain their top flight status, and there has been suggestions that both teams could name changed line-ups this evening.
And Moyes said: “I’m glad we are still in the cup and we have another chance to go through.
“I’d like us to get through to the next round if we could, although I wouldn’t swap it over being in the Premier League – I can tell you that.
“But in the same breath we would like to progress.
“I think any win would help.”
When asked whether Sunderland could play the youngsters against Burnley, the Scottish boss responded: “I’ve been here long enough. I’ve seen them play regularly, so I have an idea about them.
“Some of them are very young, but hopefully they will develop into really good players.”
The winners of tonight’s replay between Sunderland and Burnley will take on Bristol City or Fleetwood Town in the fourth round.
