The West Ham United manager’s contract expires at the end of this season.
West Ham manager David Moyes addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s clash with Manchester United in the Premier League tomorrow night, and dropped his biggest hint yet that his future at the club is purely down to him, as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers secured their Premier League status for another season with Saturday’s 2-0 win away at Leicester City, and in doing so, Moyes fulfilled his remit of keeping the east London outfit in the top flight.
Whilst West Ham have been extremely inconsistent since Moyes arrival at the club, they have shown glimpses of just how good they can be, but whether that will be enough to earn the Scot a permanent deal at the club remains to be seen.
Moyes spoke to the media today, and seemed to hint that his future at the club is purely down to him, suggesting that he has a big decision to make at the end of the season, as quoted by Football.London:
“We’ve always said we will wait until after the end of the season and I won’t change my views until we get the season out of the way. We have put together as much as we can but ultimately, I have a decision to make.”
The Hammers have two games remaining this season, and if they win them both, they can still finish inside the top 10.
Whether they achieve that or not, judging by Moyes’ words, it seems as though he is in east London for the long-term.
