Diafra Sakho has been linked with a move away from West Ham United in the January transfer window.

David Moyes, Manager of Sunderland looks on during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on May 21, 2017 in London, England.

West Ham United manager David Moyes has written in The London Evening Standard that there is no problem between him and striker Diafra Sakho.

Sakho did not start the EFL Cup tie for West Ham against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in North London.

According to The Daily Mail, Sakho has a conversation with Moyes about why he is not starting Premier League games.

Everton manager David Moyes looks on during the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON Final match between Chelsea and Everton at Wembley Stadium on May 30, 2009 in London, England.

“Sakho had expected to start at the Emirates Stadium until a conversation with Moyes about why the new manager had not been picking him to start in the Premier League team,” states the report in The Daily Mail.

“Afterwards, the 27-year-old striker said he no longer wanted to play and wanted to go home but was persuaded to stay and take his place among the substitutes.

“Sakho has appeared 14 times as a substitute in the league this season — and scored twice including the third in a 3-0 win at Stoke on Saturday — but has yet to make a start and believes that is down to a lucrative bonus clause in a new contract signed in the summer.”

According to The Daily Mail, Sakho earns a £50,000 bonus whenever he starts in the Premier League and £25,000 when he appears from the substitutes’ bench. The bonus, though, does not cover cup competitions, according to the report.

West Ham manager Moyes has denied the rift, and has made it clear that there is no problem between him and the 27-year-old striker, who has been on the books of the Hammers since the summer of 2014 when he joined from FC Metz when Sam Allardyce – now the manager of Everton – was in charge.

According to Metrodakar.net, French club Strasbourg are interested in signing Sakho from West Ham in the January transfer window.

Moyes wrote in The London Evening Standard: “I was dumbfounded when I heard there had been reports of a row between Diafra Sakho and myself before the Arsenal match.

“I can say categorically there has never been any cross words with Diafra since I’ve been at the club and I have been pleased with his performances when he has come off the bench in games.

“He has never been in to see me about anything since I’ve been at the club so I was amazed when I was told about the allegations.”
