West Ham United were linked with Michy Batshuayi in the summer, so should David Moyes now make a fresh move for the Chelsea striker?

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is looking at potential striker targets for the January transfer window as he is not convinced that Michy Batshuayi is the right man to be Alvaro Morata’s understudy at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, at West Ham, David Moyes is looking to win the underwhelmed supporters over after being unveiled as Slaven Bilic’s successor at the London Stadium, so perhaps reigniting the club’s interest in the Belgian striker may be a wise move.

The London Evening Standard reported back in May that the Hammers wanted to bring Batshuayi in on loan, and it now appears that Conte could be open to the idea of letting 24-year-old leave in some capacity if he lands another striker.

Though Batshuayi – who cost £33 million (via Guardian) – has struggled for game-time since moving to the Blues, he arguably has the quality to elevate most squads in the Premier League – including West Ham’s.

The Hammers could undoubtedly do with signing another striker in January as they look to get themselves out of their current position inside the Premier League relegation zone.

And although results will be the main factor that decides whether Moyes manages to win the Irons supporters round, if he decided to make a fresh move for Batshuayi and managed to bring him to the club in January, that would surely go a long way to helping convince the fans that he is the right man to take the club forward.
