West Ham United and Celtic are both expected to be busy in the January transfer window.
West Ham need new recruits to help in their battle for Premier League survival while Celtic want to go as far as possible in the Europa League while maintaining their domestic dominance.
The Hammers have long been linked with a move for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele but were quoted as much as £30 million during the summer, as reported by The Daily Mail at the time.
West Ham have an over-reliance on injury prone forward Andy Carroll and Senegal striker Diafra Sakho is desperate to leave the club.
So David Moyes knows he must bring in another frontman with the Hammers one of the lowest scorers in the league after just 14 goals in 16 games.
West Ham have slapped a £12 million price tag on Sakho’s head given he has a near goal every other game ratio.
The African tried to engineer a move away from the London Stadium in August but West Ham dug their heels in given their lack of options.
And he reiterated his desire to leave in January in a recent interview with French journalist Claude Atcheba.
Sakho would be ideal for Celtic and could become something of a cult hero north of the border given his propensity to find the back of the net with regularity.
A big bonus for Brendan Rodgers is that Sakho is not cup tied for Europe and would be a huge quality boost for their Europa League campaign in the new year.
Moyes could take advantage of the situation by offering Sakho as a makeweight in a renewed bid for Dembele who offers the pace West Ham have been desperate to add for the last few transfer windows.
The Hammers would likely have to cough up around £20 million as well as Sakho but it is a deal which may well suit all parties.
