Tottenham Hotspur finished in the top four of the Premier League table last season.

David Moyes, Manager of West Ham United gives his team instructions during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Everton at London Stadium on May 13, 2018 in London, England.

David Moyes has told The Sunday Post that he expects Tottenham Hotspur to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.

Tottenham finished in the top four of the Premier League table last season and also reached the final of the Champions League.

Former Manchester United manager Moyes believes that Spurs are better this season having made signings in the summer transfer.

The North London outfit have secured the services of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and Kion Etete from Notts County, while they have sent Jack Clarke back on loan to Leeds United for the 2019-20 campaign.

Moyes, though, believes that Spurs’ title challenge depends on whether or not they are able to keep hold of Denmark international attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen.

Moyes told The Sunday Post: “The standards set by Manchester City have been incredible. They look pretty much unbeatable every time they take the field.

“If they lose games, it may well be down to their own mistakes rather than teams outplaying them. They start as favourites, and rightly so.

“Liverpool will push them, for sure. I also expect Tottenham Hotspur to improve on last season and be involved in the title race to the very last.

“They have signed two or three players, so they should be better and have more depth as they signed no players at all last summer.

“But it all could depend on whether they keep Christian Eriksen or not. He is such a good player.”

Title challenge

Tottenham have established themselves as regulars in the top four of the Premier League, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side stunned many observers by reaching the final of the Champions League last season.

For Spurs to take the next step, they need to challenge Liverpool and City for the league title this season and maintain their chances until the very end of the campaign.
