Sunderland have dropped to the Championship after a 10-year stay in the Premier League after they lost 1-0 against Bournemouth at the Stadium of Light.
Hull City’s draw at Southampton leaves David Moyes’ side at 14 points from safety with four games left. The Black Cats have been relegated for the fourth-time in their history.
Sunderland’s main problem this season has been scoring goals. And they failed to do that again on Saturday – the 18th time in 34 league games this season.

Over the years, Sunderland have gone through remarkable survivals in their time in the Premier League, but unfortunately this time luck has run out for Moyes.
Moyes told the fans to expect a relegation battle after two games in the season – the club never recovered from the negative vibe set at the beginning.
The former Manchester United manager was asked after the match whether he will be Sunderland boss next season. Although he didn’t say an outright ‘yes’; the former Everton manager hinted that he would like to get the Black Cats back in the Premier League.
“To think about it and talk about it now is just too quick,” he said, as quoted by BBC Sport.
“They’re questions for a week or two down the line – I’m not sure it’s for now. I’d like to make sure we get Sunderland back in the Premier League.”
Sunderland are a great club with a loyal fan base. They can take a lesson from Newcastle United who have returned to the Premier League straightaway after being demoted a season earlier.
The important question is – should Moyes stay or go?
