West Ham United boss David Moyes has told the club’s official website that he felt the service to Tomas Soucek and Sebastien Haller was ‘really poor’ against Fulham.
The Hammers hosted Fulham on Saturday evening, and it looked like being a frustrating night for Moyes’ men as they struggled to find the opening goal.
Alphonse Areola made a host of saves and both Haller and Aaron Cresswell hit the woodwork, but they did finally grab the winner as Tomas Soucek fired home Said Benrahma’s pass.
There was more late drama as Fulham won a late penalty, only for Ademola Lookman to dink the ball straight at Lukasz Fabianski.
It wasn’t vintage West Ham, but they’ll take the three points and the clean sheet, with Moyes no doubt looking for better moving forward.
Moyes highlighted one thing he was really disappointed with, as he felt the service to Haller and Soucek was ‘really poor’ throughout the game.
Both players are dominant in the air, and Moyes was hoping to give them headed chances to score, but they both suffered from poor quality from their teammates.
“One of the problems tonight was our crossing quality was really poor and we didn’t deliver good enough quality into the box when we were in positions to do so,” said Moyes. “We had Tomas in the box and Seb Haller too, and we were hoping to get something aerial for him to score from, but I felt our crossing quality was really poor,” he added.
