David Moyes was asked whether he would be interested in heading to Ibrox and taking the Glasgow Rangers job, or joining the Scottish Premiership champions.

Moyes is currently out of work after leaving West Ham at the end of last season. His stock arguably rose during his time at the London Stadium as he kept the Hammers away from the relegation zone in the Premier League – and it must not be forgotten the transformation in Marko Arnautovic that took place during his tenure.
The former Hoops man has spoken in the past – in comments reported by the Daily Record in 2016 – about speaking with the Bhoys hierarchy about taking the Parkhead job, while he was a surprise second favourite for the Rangers job with the bookies following Pedro Caixinha’s departure last year.
And when asked about a potential return to Scotland, Moyes suggested that he would be open to joining either Rangers or Celtic at some stage in the future.

“Yeah, I would be,” he told Si Ferry when asked whether he would be interested in the Rangers or Celtic posts. “I’ve been close to a few of them once or twice and thought about it a lot. I would be [interested]. It’s my home and I’d like to come back and do it sometime, but while the Premier League’s so strong, that would probably still remain my interest.”
It seems extremely unlikely that either of the Rangers or Celtic jobs will come up anytime soon. Brendan Rodgers is not enjoying the best season at the moment, but he still went into this campaign off the back of two domestic Treble-winning seasons. And any complaints from the fans appear to be being directed at the board after an underwhelming summer.

Meanwhile, although Rangers went into this week off the back of a disappointing defeat, there is a huge amount of optimism surrounding what Steven Gerrard may achieve at Ibrox. And he has threatened to justify that positivity with some excellent results in the early stages of his tenure.
But if either post did come up, Moyes would arguably be the kind of manager that both clubs should have on their radar. He is arguably a marquee name with a proven track record and could be a fantastic option should the Hoops or Gers need to replace their manager in the future.
