West Ham United boss David Moyes bemoaned a lack of research before taking the Sunderland job.
David Moyes appears to have already made the same mistake at West Ham United as he did at Sunderland.
Moyes stated in his first press conference after taking charge at West Ham, that he didn’t do enough research into the Sunderland job before taking the role at the Stadium of Light.
“I didn’t do enough due diligence before taking the Sunderland job,” he said, at a press conference two weeks ago.
However, it appears that Moyes may not have learnt from that lesson at Sunderland.
The Scottish boss said yesterday that he didn’t know the extent of the problems between West Ham’s fans and the club’s board.
“I wasn’t aware of the problems [between the fans and board] before I came to West Ham,” he said to Football.London.
Moyes would only have needed to do a minimal amount of research to know that West Ham’s fans are not particularly fond of the likes of David Gold and David Sullivan.
The chant of ‘sack the board’ has regularly been heard at West Ham matches this season, with frustrations rising.
West Ham are currently in 18th place in the Premier League table, and Moyes is under serious pressure to guide the London club away from the relegation zone.
West Ham’s next match comes later this evening, when they take on Leicester City.
