West Ham United striker Javier Hernandez came off the bench to score a late leveller against Chelsea.

Hernandez scored West Ham’s equalising goal at Stamford Bridge with a fine finish, but he had to watch on from the sidelines for much of the contest.
The Mexican has not managed to establish himself as West Ham’s main striker this season, as was expected when he arrived last summer.

And Moyes admits that Hernandez is unlikely to be best pleased with being left out of the Hammers’ starting line-up.
“Chicharito won’t thank me for bringing him on as a sub, but look at him over the years – he always gets goals and he’s a great penalty box striker,” Moyes said.
“He finds space to get goals and chances and he did it today. He gave us something else up front but any time you open up against Chelsea, you’re always liable and we had to make sure we were concentrating too.”

Hernandez’s goal against Chelsea showed all his finishing quality, as he firmly placed the ball beyond Thibaut Courtois.
The strike was huge for West Ham’s survival chances, as it has now moved Moyes’ side six points clear of trouble.
Hernandez’s goal may just have convinced Moyes that he is worthy of a starting place for the remainder of the campaign.
The Hammers are next in action in a week’s time, when they take on fellow regelation strugglers Stoke City at the London Stadium.
