Sunderland are currently stuck at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Sunderland boss David Moyes has told the Chronicle that he is worried about the current injury crisis his side are suffering.
Sunderland have eight players on the treatment table at this moment in time.
And Moyes is worried by the fact that seven of these injuries were picked up during Sunderland’s matches, rather than in training.
“We’re getting injuries,” Moyes said. “It’s not as if they are happening in training, they are all in game time, so that is the worrying thing.”
Sunderland’s injury problems have struck at exactly the wrong time, as they are under a huge amount of pressure to start collecting results.
Sunderland are yet to win this season in the Premier League, and they are currently rooted to the bottom of the table.
Moyes’ side are already four points adrift of safety, and they are in danger of being cut adrift unless they can start grabbing some victories.
The Black Cats have been in abject form, with Moyes now the bookies’ favourite to be the next manager to get the sack.
Sunderland’s next match comes against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday.
