Sunderland are set to attempt to offload a number of their current first-team squad.

David Moyes has told the Shields Gazette that Sunderland want to keep a core group of 11 players at the Stadium of Light.
Moyes intends to make masses of changes at Sunderland, and has already informed a number of players in his first-team squad that they will be moving on.
And the Scottish boss has suggested that only a certain few will be kept around at the Stadium of Light, as Sunderland look to earn an immediate promotion back to the Premier League.

Moyes has around 11 players in his Sunderland squad under contract for next term, but he admits that he wants to sell many of them.
“I’ve told them exactly what’s going on,” the Scot admitted. “We’ve got 10 or 11 that are under contract and are still going to be here, but we’ve also got a number of players who have options where they could leave for whatever reason.
“While the players are under contract, they’re our players, although there’ll maybe be some of them that we don’t want.
“We might want some of them to go, in fact we probably do.”
Among the most likely players to depart from Sunderland are Lamine Kone, Jordan Pickford and Jermain Defoe.
Meanwhile, Darron Gibson, Byran Oviedo and Lee Cattermole are likely to form part of the core group Moyes wants to keep around.
Moyes is said to want an entire new starting XI next term (The Sun), as he looks to guide Sunderland straight back into the top flight.
