Duncan Watmore looks likely to start in Sunderland’s next match.
David Moyes has admitted to the Shields Gazette that Sunderland need Duncan Watmore.
Watmore has broken through Sunderland’s academy system in recent seasons, and is now a prominent member of the first-team.
The 22-year-old is generally utilised as a substitute, but Moyes admits that the winger is an important player for his side.
“I thought Duncan did a great job too [against QPR]. We can use him, even if he does come off the bench or if he starts,” Moyes said.
“We know he has big energy and we need that.”
Watmore broke into Sunderland’s team when Sam Allardyce was in charge last season, and he has not looked back since.
The youngster’s tireless performances have caught the eye, and he looks likely to start for Sunderland against West Bromwich Albion tomorrow.
With Adnan Januzaj out injured, the Black Cats are short of forward options, meaning Watmore is likely to be called upon.
Sunderland are currently bottom of the Premier League table, but if they win tomorrow they could move out of the relegation zone.
