Sunderland picked up their first victory of the season by beating Bournemouth.
Sunderland boss David Moyes has told the Sunderland Echo that his side have conceded too many cheap goals this season.
Sunderland have made a terrible start to the new campaign, and currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League table.
The Black Cats failed to win any of their first 10 league matches, but finally got a much needed victory by beating Bournemouth 2-1 in their latest outing.
In the contest Sunderland had to show a great amount of heart to get the three points, as they went behind early on.
The Black Cats allowed Dan Gosling to race on to the end of a cross and finish from close range, and Moyes admits he was fearing the worst when that goal went in.
“It was another typical bad goal to concede and we’ve been doing too much of that,” the former Manchester United and Everton manager said. “We allowed them to get inside us at the back, I thought ‘here we go again’.
“We now need to go on and get the second win – we’ve talked a lot about getting the first. but now let’s talk about the second and let’s see if we can find a way to get that quite quickly.”
Sunderland got the three points against Bournemouth through goals from Victor Anichebe and Jermain Defoe.
The Black Cats are still six points adrift of safety, but there is some hope that they will be able to kick on in the coming weeks.
Sunderland are next in action after the international break, when they take on fellow strugglers Hull City at the Stadium of Light.
