The Hull City man has joked that he is set to join Liverpool this summer.

Hull City’s David Meyler has joked on Twitter that he is joining Liverpool.

Eldin Jakupovic looks set to be the next man leaving Hull in what has been something of an exodus at the KCOM Stadium this summer.

The 32-year-old seems to be heading for former Premier League champions Leicester City, according to Sky Sports.

If and when the transfer materialises, new Hull boss will have sold or released 10 players – including Harry Maguire and Tom Huddlestone, while there is also speculation about left-back Andy Robertson joining Liverpool in an £8 million deal.

Meyler, who has been team-mates with Jakupovic for three years, effectively confirmed the Switzerland international’s exit on Twitter by wishing him good luck.

His Tigers team-mate Kamil Grosicki – who is linked with Newcastle United and others – intervened and asked who is next to leave the club, before the Republic of Ireland claimed, obviously in jest, that he is joining Liverpool this summer.
