A comfortable win for Celtic on Wednesday saw Ange Postecoglou‘s side keep their lead at the top of the Premiership to nine points over Rangers – and Livingston boss David Martindale has given his verdict on Celtic’s Aussie manager.

With Rangers beating Hearts at Tynecastle 3-0 with an impressive away performance, Celtic had to win at Parkhead to keep the pressure on. The game was done in the space of 18 minutes. Greg Taylor opened the scoring for Celtic.

A bit of a lucky goal saw Daizen Maeda make it 2-0, before Kyogo got his name on the score sheet for the 21st time this season. Already eclipsing last season’s tally of 20 goals. The Japan star has 18 goals in 22 Premiership outings.

The three goals came in the space of 18 minutes in the first half, earning Celtic all three points. Another clean sheet for Joe Hart, who has kept four consecutive clean sheets in the league. Martindale raved about £42k-a-week Postecoglou.

“Playing against Ange’s team at Celtic Park is difficult. Ange has his team playing some very, very nice football. They are good on the eye, it must be a good time to be a Celtic fan right now,” Martindale told BBC Sport’s Live coverage.

Martindale gives verdict on Celtic manager Postecoglou after 3-0 win

Celtic look as though nothing is going to stop them in their hunt for a second consecutive Premiership title. Their record is quite remarkable, winning 22 of 24 League games – losing once to St. Mirren, and drawing with Rangers.

With 14 games left to play in the League, Celtic are on course to break the record for points in the Premiership – which currently stands at 106 in the 2016-17 campaign. If Celtic win their remaining 14 matches, they will secure 109.

They are a steam train that shows no signs of stopping. Even Michael Beale’s Rangers are playing very well at the moment, but Celtic look far too consistent. Rangers have now won 10 of Beale’s 11 games as manager of the club.
