Arsenal claimed bragging rights on Sunday evening as they beat rivals Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners fell behind as Erik Lamela pulled off a quite ridiculous rabona goal, but Mikel Arteta’s men rallied back to win.
Martin Odegaard fired Arsenal level, turning home Kieran Tierney’s pull back with the aid of a deflection off Toby Alderweireld.
Alexandre Lacazette grabbed the winner in the second half, firing home from the penalty spot having been fouled by Davinson Sanchez.
Arsenal had to hang on a little at the end as Spurs pushed despite being down to 10 men following Lamela’s red card, but Arteta bagged his first three points as a manager against Spurs.
After the game, David Luiz took to Instagram to lead the celebrations, posting just three words ‘London is Red’.
The Brazilian was clearly excited to have won the game, but fans noticed that he said ‘London’ as a whole, rather than just North London.
Luiz had not one but two spells at Chelsea, becoming a fan favourite during his time with the Blues.
His allegiance now lies with Arsenal, but this may be something of a bold verdict from a Chelsea perspective – even more so with the Blues currently above Arsenal in the Premier League table!
