David James tweets his appreciation of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s performance v Manchester United

The young Liverpool right-back put in a fantastic display in this big derby clash.

Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw with Manchester United today in their big clash in the Premier League.

Liverpool led the game through a James Milner penalty, before Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a late header to save a point for United at Old Trafford.

Liverpool had something of a mixed team for the fixture and youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold had to be called in to start the game.

It was his Premier League debut and the 18-year-old certainly did not look out of his depth in the game.

He was brilliant at right-back as Liverpool fans continue to be amazed at the talent of this England youth international.

He also impressed one former Liverpool player. Goalkeeper David James, who spent seven years as a Liverpool player, had this to say about his performance on Twitter:

There has been no doubt that Liverpool fans are impressed by the player who has put in a series of brilliant performances in the EFL Cup for Liverpool this season.

Now he has made his Premier League debut it is clear he has what it takes to play at this level.
