Bright talent bagged an assist for Everton’s under-23s.

Everton prospect David Henen impressed for the club’s under-23s last night in a 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea.

Henen started the match and provided an assist with a clever pass for teammate Harry Charsley to score an equaliser for David Unsworth’s side.

Henen was making a return after sitting out the previous fixture against Manchester United through illness, and while he was delighted to make an impact, he sent a message on Twitter to let fans know after the game that there is plenty more to come from him.

The 20-year-old forward is in his third season at Everton, and is hoping he can start making strides towards earning first team football this season.

To do so he will need to show greater consistency than he has done in previous campaigns, if he is to earn the trust of Ronald Koeman.

In six under-23 games this season Henen has scored once, and provided two assists, but is yet to make the bench for the first team this campaign.
