Speaking on the LUFC Fanzone Podcast, David Healy has been waxing-lyrical about Marcelo Bielsa, labelling the Leeds United manager a ‘magician’.
Healy was something of a cult hero during his time at Leeds, and while he’s currently working as the manager of Linfield, he says he keeps up with Leeds just to see what Bielsa is going to do next.
The Northern Irishman says he’d love to come and watch Bielsa work with the Leeds players at training.
“I watch probably more Leeds games than you do. I keep up to date with the U23s to see what Mr Bielsa is going to be adding and trying to see who he’s going to out-tactic next,” Healy said.
“We have the links with Charlie (Allen) at Leeds and Linfield going forward, so I want to get to Thorp Arch to see how the magician Bielsa actually works to try and give us a couple of tips.
“It would be lovely one day to come back to Thorp Arch to watch the magician Bielsa to see how he actually works.”

The former Whites striker is absolutely right about Bielsa being a magician.
It would be very interesting to watch Bielsa conduct training at Thorp Arch, and Healy would certainly learn a lot from watching the Argentine at work.
Who knows? If Healy picks enough up from Bielsa perhaps one day he could be back at Elland Road in some sort of coaching capacity.
