Former Rangers striker David Healy speaks highly of Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic.

Linfield manager and former Rangers striker David Healy has told The Daily Record that Celtic will win the Scottish Premiership title with ease during the 2017-18 campaign.

Healy, who is now 37 years of age and played for Rangers during the 2011-12 season, was impressed with Celtic’s performance against Linfield on Friday evening.

The Hoops got the better of the NIFL Premiership club 2-0 away from home at Windsor Park in Belfast in the first leg of the Champions League second qualifying round.

Scott Sinclair put the Glasgow giants in the lead in the 16th minute, and Tom Rogic doubled the advantage for the Hoops midway through the first half.

Healy has praised Celtic’s display, and has predicted the Glasgow giants to clinch the Scottish Premiership title with ease next season.

“Celtic will do the same as they did last season in Scotland,” Healy told The Daily Record. “I have no doubt they’ll run away with the league again. I expect them to be just as rampant.”

Celtic won the Scottish Premiership title without losing a single game last season, and one should not be surprised if Brendan Rodgers’s side repeat their heroics during the 2017-18 campaign.

Rangers, though, should be looking to challenge the Bhoys. The Glasgow giants did not have a great 2016-17 Scottish Premiership season, but the Ibrox faithful will hope that Pedro Caixinha’s side can at least close the gap between themselves and Celtic.
