Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic reportedly want Hibernian star John McGinn.

John McGinn is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership, and there is no surprise that Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, Leeds United and Sunderland have been linked with the Hibernian star.
Ibrox club Rangers and Leeds want the Hibernian midfielder, according to The Scottish Sun, which also claims of Sunderland’s interest in the 23-year-old, while The Daily Record has reported that that Aston Villa and West Ham United want him.
Celtic are also interested in the 23-year-old midfielder, according to The Scottish Sun, and former Scotland international midfielder David Hay, who played for and managed the Hoops, believes that the ex-St. Mirren star would be a good signing for Brendan Rodgers’s side in the summer transfer window.
The 70-year-old believes that McGinn would be a suitable replacement for 26-year-old Scotland international midfielder Stuart Armstrong, who is wanted by Southampton, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Hove Albion and Fulham, according to The Daily Record.

Hay wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times: “Personally, I would like to see John McGinn brought in from Hibs to supplement the midfield. On paper Celtic are strong in the middle of the park and there are a lot of bodies in there already.
“People talk about McGinn being a successor to Scott Brown but at this moment in time as Stuart Armstrong looks as though he is set for pastures new then McGinn is the player who could step in to that void.
“He is definitely one that I would consider when it comes to supplementing the squad. I think he would add something although defensively I think there will be some cover added.”

Competition
McGinn is a very good and talented young midfielder, and the Scotland international would be a good signing for Celtic.
However, the Hoops could face a lot of competition for the 23-year-old, who is valued at £5 million, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
With Rangers, Sunderland, Leeds, Villa and West Ham all reported to be interested in McGinn, Celtic have a lot of work on their hands to get a deal done.
