Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers will face Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic in the Scottish Cup this weekend.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is seen during a training session at Lennoxtown on December 29, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

David Hay has suggested in The Glasgow Evening Times that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers should include Craig Gordon in the starting lineup against Rangers.

Celtic will take on Old Firm rivals Rangers at Hampden Park in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Gordon, who is the best goalkeeper on the books of the Hoops at the moment, has recovered from his injury.

Former Celtic midfielder and manager Hay has suggested that the 35-year-old Scotland international should start against Rangers instead of Scott Bain.

Celtic's head coach Brendan Rodgers talks during a press conference in Brussels on September 26, 2017 on the eve of the Champions League group B) football match against RSC Anderlecht.

Hay wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times: “As for the goalkeeping situation, if Gordon is fit then I would play him.

“Again, and I know I say this often but if Brendan Rodgers is watching them train day-in, day-out then he will know where they are but it is Gordon’s experience for me in a game like this that would swing it.”

What about Scott Bain?

Bain joined Celtic on loan from Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee in the January transfer window and has done quite well for the Glasgow giants.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper played well against Rangers at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership last month.

The former Aberdeen prospect has shown that he is capable of handling the big occasion, and Celtic manager Rodgers should at least consider him for a place in the starting lineup.
