Do Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic need to sign a striker in the summer transfer window?
Celtic are looking short on the attacking department at the moment despite having two of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership on their books.
Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths are the two main strikers in Brendan Rodgers’s side, and both are very good.
However, French striker Dembele could be out until early September, as Celtic boss Rodgers has told BBC Sport, while Griffiths was suspended for the Hoops’ Champions League third qualifying round first-leg tie against Rosenborg last week.

Griffiths knows Scottish football inside out, and the 26-year-old Scotland international striker would be able to take on the goalscoring burden in the absence of Dembele in the opening weeks of the 2017-18 Scottish Premiership campaign.
However, the problem is that Celtic would struggle if the former Wolverhampton Wanderers striker gets injured or is suspended for a long spell in the coming weeks.
Former Celtic midfielder and manager Hay, who is now 69 years of age, has suggested that the Glasgow giants need to sign a striker in the summer transfer window, and that manager Rodgers should have addressed the situation before.

“I felt that it would have been worthwhile bringing in additional striker this summer and I have said that long before this scenario unfolded,” Hay wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times.
“I can understand that it is all about trying to maintain a certain balance in the squad and to ensure that there is the game time to keep everyone happy.
“Last season with Patrick Roberts there was someone there who could deputise when both Dembele and Griffiths were out, but that option just isn’t available now. To my mind, it would be sensible to have a little more cover in that position.”
