Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic signed Odsonne Edouard on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window.

According to a report in The Daily Mail in January 2018, Celtic will have to pay PSG a transfer fee of £7 million in order to secure the services of the youngster on a permanent contract.
Edouard joined the Hoops on a season-long loan deal from PSG in the summer of 2017, and has scored six goals and provided two assists in 19 Scottish Premiership appearances this season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
Former Celtic midfielder and manager Hay believes that the Bhoys should secure the services of the 20-year-old French forward on a permanent contract and expects the Glasgow giants to do just that.

Hay wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times: “And I fully expect that Celtic will push the boat out to try and get the striker in on a permanent deal this summer.
“The club have a clause agreed for the player and while I think it will mean breaking their own record transfer fee to get the player in, I think what we have seen from him in the last few months more than justifies it.
“At only 20 he is a player who can develop and learn at Celtic and the club’s business model has successfully revolved around these type of signings.”

Smart signing
Edouard has not been able to establish himself as a first-team regular for Celtic, but the youngster has done well as a substitute and in the games in which he has started.
It would make sense for Celtic to make Edouard loan deal from PSG permanent in the summer transfer window.
