David Hay has suggested in The Glasgow Evening Times that he does not think that Kieran Tierney will leave Celtic anytime soon.

Tierney recently signed a new six-year contract with Celtic which will see him remain at Celtic Park until the summer of 2023.

The 20-year-old is one of the best left-backs in Europe and is arguably the best in his position in the Scottish Premiership.

The Scotland international defender has progressed well over the past two or so seasons, and it is safe to say that the youngster is only going to get better.

According to ESPN, Premier League trio Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in signing the left-back next summer.

Given that Tierney has only just signed a new deal, Celtic are not going to sell him in the January transfer window.

Next summer, though, anything is possible, but former Celtic midfielder and manager Hay does not expect the left-back to leave Celtic Park anytime soon.

“And while I keep hearing that it is inevitable there will be big money moves offered to Tierney, my own view is that they might want to coin the same song from Tierney as they have for Brendan Rodgers; my gut feeling is that he will be here to take charge of the push for 10-in-a-row,” Hay wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times.
