Hammers co-owner David Gold took to Twitter this morning to provide a positive update on the impending return of Andy Carroll, stating that the striker is back in training ahead of Monday night’s clash with Premier League leaders Chelsea.
The 6ft 4in hitman has struggled to maintain his fitness this season, regularly succumbing to knocks that have prevented him from playing a consistent part in West Ham’s campaign.
He makes such a difference to Slaven Bilic’s side when he is fit and firing on all cylinders, and provides them with an entirely different option to anything else they have available to them.
And Gold took to his official Twitter account to provide news that will put a huge smile on the faces of Hammers fans across the country this morning:
West Ham will fancy their chances against the Blues if they have the former Liverpool and Newcastle United striker available for selection, and at the very least, he will provide them with a different option, should they need to mix things up.
And Bilic will be hoping that Carroll can steer clear of injuries for the remainder of their campaign, as they look to make a late push for the final Europa League spot.
