West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Diafra Sakho and Andre Ayew could feature against Chelsea next week.
The Hammers will take on Premier League rivals Chelsea at the London Stadium in the fourth round of the EFL Cup next Wednesday evening.
Gold has suggested on Twitter that striker Sakho and winger Ayew could feature against the Blues.
Head of Medical and Sports Science, Stijn Vandenbroucke, wrote on West Ham’s official website on Wednesday that Ayew has returned to training.
Vandenbroucke also stated that Sakho will start training in controlled Under-23 sessions on Monday and will then join the first-team squad the following week.
West Ham will take on Sunderland at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Hammers will head into the match against the Black Cats on the back of a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in the league.
Slaven Bilic’s side are 15th in the Premier League table at the moment with just seven points from eight matches.
