West Ham United reportedly want Newcastle United’s Mohamed Diame.

Diame is out of contract at Newcastle this summer, and the 31-year-old has reportedly not made the number of starts needed to trigger an extension on his deal.
Sabah has claimed that the Hammers are looking at securing the services of the Senegalese, and so are Fenerbahce and Crystal Palace.
Diame is a former West Ham player and was on the books of the London club from the summer of 2012 until the summer of 2014 when he switched to Hull City.
Following the 31-year-old’s departure from the Hammers to the Tigers, West Ham co-chairman David Gold mocked him for his decision on Twitter, as shown below.

Given Gold’s aforementioned tweets suggest that it will be very tough for Diame to return to West Ham, and it is quite surprising that the Hammers are (reportedly) interested in the midfielder in the first place.
West Ham do have some very good midfielders, and there is really no need for the 31-year-old at the London Stadium.
