The West Ham United winger scored at the weekend and is starting to show signs of his talent.

West Ham United co-owner David Gold has taken to Twitter to give his opinion of summer signing Sofiane Feghouli.

The Algeria international has had to wait patiently for his chance to impress this season, with injury playing its part, but his goal-scoring performance in the 3-0 victory against Crystal Palace last weekend suggested he was finding his feet after a shaky start.

Feghouli scored the opening goal against the Eagles, setting West Ham on their way to a very impressive win, and that prompted one Hammers fan to say exactly what he thought of the free signing.

In response to the fan saying that he would keep Feghouli as the club had not yet seen the best of him, Gold responded succinctly but tellingly.

“I think you’re right,” he wrote.

It remains to be seen if West Ham manager Slaven Bilic echoes those sentiments, but there is little doubt Feghouli deserves more time to prove his worth.

It was always going to take a while for him to settle into his new surroundings and West Ham fans need only look at Michail Antonio as an example of what can happen when a previously overlooked player is finally given regular chances.
