It was seven years ago on Thursday that Gold and David Sullivan took over at the Hammers.
West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has sent a message to supporters on Twitter on the seventh anniversary of his arrival at the club.
It was seven years ago on Thursday that Gold and David Sullivan together bought to controlling stake in the Hammers and became co-chairmen.
Whilst this season has not been one of the happier years under the former Birmingham City owners, Gold took the time on Thursday evening to thank the club’s supporters for the journey they have had since 2010.
Gold and Sullivan’s reign has been action-packed, to say the least. After narrowly avoiding relegation immediately after their arrival, the club bombed to a last-placed finish in their first full season in control, suffering a first relegation since 2003.
However, they won the Championship play-off final the following campaign and have been established in the top flight ever since, finishing in mid-table until last term’s impressive seventh-place posting.

The Irons have not enjoyed the same success so far this season despite their historic move to the London Stadium, and this term has seen several instances of fan dissent against Gold and Sullivan.
Gold will be hoping that his club can make it a happy anniversary this weekend by winning at Middlesbrough, a result which could see them climb into the top half.
