West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to praise a piece of transfer business from another Premier League club.

The Hammers supporters on Twitter revealed their admiration for Crystal Palace’s signing of Jean-Philippe Mateta from Mainz 05.

Within the space of a few days, the Eagles agreed a deal with the Bundesliga outfit, flew the striker over for a medical, before announcing his arrival on Thursday morning.

The Frenchman arrives initially on an 18-month loan for a fee of €3 million (£2.7 million), and the deal could be made permanent for €15 million (£13.3 million) in the summer of 2022 if certain criteria is met.

In truth, it was an efficient, quick bit of business from the south Londoners, and one that the West Ham fans are clearly impressed with.

Soon, the Irons could have a new frontman of their own.

The Daily Star revealed that West Ham could soon submit a fresh £32 million offer for Sevilla marksman Youssef En-Nesyri.

Elsewhere, The Sun are saying that David Moyes’ side will submit a £16 million offer for Bournemouth’s Josh King.

Furthermore, the Evening Standard say that the Irons failed with a bid to sign Montpellier hitman Gaetan Laborde.

West Ham’s striker hunt may not conclude as quickly as Palace’s did.

However, the east Londoners are clearly trying to bring a frontman to the London Stadium, and there’s still plenty of time to do so.

Let’s see what the West Ham fans on Twitter have been saying about Mateta…
