The West Ham United manager has always been a fan favourite.

Hammers co-owner David Gold declared his love for the club’s manager Slaven Bilic, when writing his regular column for the club’s official website, citing the Croatian’s raw emotion as something that highlights his winning mentality.

West Ham were unlucky not to beat West Bromwich Albion last weekend, after a succession of poor decisions from the officials led to the Baggies’ late equaliser.

Bilic’s subsequent reaction was deemed inappropriate, and he was banished to the stands.

Gold praised the Hammers boss, however, when writing his regular column for WHUFC.com, and shared how highly both he and the club’s other board members regard Bilic:

“The team are now back to their best and you can see the emotion that Slaven had for the team on Saturday. He is a winner and that is why we love him. That is why the fans love him and long may it continue.”

West Ham have turned their season around over the past two months, and now sit comfortably inside the top half of the table.

And Bilic has to take great credit for the manner in which he has managed to guide his side away from trouble, and re-inject confidence and enthusiasm back into his players.

There is now genuine optimism emanating from the club regarding how high up the table they can actually finish this season, and if they can string together a succession of wins, then seventh spot could very well be a realistic ambition for the Hammers.
