Martin Samuelsen joined West Ham United from Manchester City earlier this summer.
West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has taken to social networking site Twitter to highlight how highly he rates Martin Samuelsen.
The Hammers signed the highly-rated Norwegian striker on a two-year deal earlier this summer.
The 18-year-old moved to West Ham from Premier League rivals Manchester City, where he was a member of their Elite Development Squad.
Samuelsen earned the contract at the Hammers after impressing coaches at the West Ham United Academy while on trial on the back end of last season.
The teenager featured for the Hammers’ first team against Peterborough United in a pre-season friendly at London Road on Saturday.
Gold seems to have been impressed with Samuelsen, who scored in the 3-3 draw, and made the following post on Twitter:
Breakthrough season?
Samuelsen has a bright future ahead of him, but it is unlikely that he will get to play regularly for the West Ham first team next season.
The teenager is best suited for the youth side for the time being, but he could get chances from time to time, especially in cup games.
The 2015-16 campaign may not prove to be a breakthrough season for Samuelsen, but it will be important for his development as a footballer.
