West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has admitted to the club’s official website that they desperately need a win against Crystal Palace this weekend.
The Hammers travel to Selhurst Park to take on Alan Pardew’s team in Saturday’s late kick-off.
They head there looking to turn around a poor start to the season that has seen them pick up just one win from their first seven games of the campaign.

The situation is somewhat uncertain at the club as a result, with some fearing that a surprise relegation battle could be on the cards.
And Gold has admitted that they are desperate to secure all three points from this game.
“I still have fond memories of the 3-1 win there last year and it would be fantastic if we could come away with a similar result,” he told the club’s official website.
“Palace are playing very well at the moment but we desperately need a victory and I want to walk into my office with my head held high on Monday!”

West Ham certainly do need a win to kick-start their season, with the situation looking dire at present.
They currently sit 18th in the table with just four points from their first seven games of the campaign.
A win could see them move far up the table, though, with Burnley and Hull in 14th and 15th place only three points ahead at this stage.
They will face tough competition in Crystal Palace, though, with the Eagles currently eighth in the table and unbeaten in their last five games.
